Dr. Conoyer was born and raised in St. Charles County and is a descendent of the original French explorers of this area. He graduated from St. Charles Borromeo Grade School in 1964 and Duchesne High School in 1968 as class valedictorian. He was a summa cum laude graduate from Southeast Missouri State University in 1971 and earned the Cardinal Key Award. He received his M.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1975 and was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society by his classmates.
Dr. Conoyer completed a surgery internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, in 1976, and his Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1980. He was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1980. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and an Associate Fellow in the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Conoyer is currently a member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors, the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and Legatus.
Dr. Conoyer has been president of the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, president of the Duchesne High School Board, a member of the St. Charles County Charter Commission, the St. Charles County Handicapped Facilities Board, the Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles County Board, the St. Peters Hospital Board, the Drug Free Missouri Board, the United Services for the Handicapped Blue Ribbon Committee, the Missourians Against Human Cloning Board, and the part-time faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine.
Some awards given to Dr. Conoyer include being honored for charitable work at the Youth In Need Celebration of Youth and by the United Services for the Handicapped. He was named Citizen of the Year in 1993 by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce and received the prestigious National Practitioner Excellence Award in 1996 given to one ear nose and throat surgeon nationally each year by the American Academy of Otolaryngology. He received the St. Peters Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Business Leadership Award in 2004 and the St. Charles Business Journal 50 Over Fifty Community Shapers Award.
Since 1980, Dr. Conoyer has practiced ENT in St. Charles County. In 1972, he married Carol Wappelhorst, his high school sweetheart. They have three children: Matthew, Benjamin, and Ellen. Matthew and Benjamin are both certified ENT specialist practicing at Midwest ENT.
